Founding member Gail van Niekerk, who has over 30 years of experience in the product developing field, started Banting Boulevard with a passion for creating delicious foods. That make you feel and look your absolute best. This led Gail, in 2014 to research the Banting Diet. That led to a “wow” moment upon realising the benefits of a low carb diet.
It allows individuals to avidly maintain normal blood glucose levels, and thus remaining in this zone is essential for weight-loss and insulin management. Banting Blvd’s mission to make low-carb, high-fat foods accessible for everyone was born.
A year later, Lizanne van Niekerk, Gail’s eldest daughter, joined the family business. Together Banting Blvd’s purpose truly became definitive by anchoring a partnership with The Noakes Foundation affiliate program and developing the world's very first LCHF pap.

Gail, what made you take the step into the unknown to become an entrepreneur?
“Becoming an entrepreneur was about being able to serve more people in my own time. While entrepreneurship in food is full of challenges, it is a much more meaningful path, and I hope to empower others along their own journey in life”.
